Certificate Program in Human Resources Management
The Human Resource Management Certificate Program at California National University is designed to prepare candidates for the current corporate HR department.
For those who have not completed a Bachelor’s degree, the program offers a Practitioner Track to inpiduals in need of the necessary introductory courses. Students are to complete 12 units of coursework within the Required Course section and six units of Elective Courses. The Required Courses provide the students with fundamental knowledge of human resource management including the legal environment, recruiting and training employees, and the significance of effective management of employee compensation and benefits. The Required Courses are prerequisites for most of the Elective Courses. These electives provide students the opportunity to explore their specific interests.
The Professional Track follows the same outline as the Practitioner Track in that it also has 12 units of Required Courses and six units of Elective Courses. The Required Courses offer students essential skills for their prospective professional careers. Students will learn management processes, compensation strategies, and financial and program development. The variety of Elective Courses gives students the ability to focus their interests and find their passion.
Inpiduals who have a Bachelor’s degree and have completed the Professional Track can apply for the Master of Human Resources degree. Credits from the Professional Track will transfer over into the degree program.
