In 1939, the private, not-for-profit Caldwell College opened its doors in Caldwell, New Jersey, providing post-secondary educational opportunities for women. Founded on Catholic values and traditions, the college continued growing. By the fall of 1986, Caldwell College allowed the entrance of male students. The College has since expanded with the addition of master’s degree programs, and more recently, the institution began awarding a doctoral degree. In order to accommodate the growing needs of adult learners, Caldwell College offers 20-plus online and distance learning programs.
Students can choose to complete their entire degree online, or combine online learning with on-campus coursework. Online programs differ from distance learning programs where professors issue assignments and then students meet one Saturday per month during the semester.
