The demand for quality nurses was high during World War II, so Cabarrus County Hospital in Concord, North Carolina, established a school of nursing in 1942, initially enrolling sixteen students. The hospital continued to support the education of nurses and by the end of the twentieth century, the school added degree programs and assumed a new title, Cabarrus College of Health Sciences. Cabarrus College awards associate’s and bachelor’s degrees, along with diplomas and certificates.
Programs at Cabarrus College of Health Sciences focus on nursing and health profession programs. Cabarrus offers both bachelor’s and associate’s degrees in Nursing. Currently, distance learning students can pursue three different online/blended learning degree programs at Cabarrus College of Health Sciences, along with a large number of online courses. Online classes incorporate asynchronous or synchronous lessons with interactive discussion boards and group work.
