Cabarrus College of Health Sciences offers an online Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree which is a completion program designed for registered nurses who have an associate’s degree or graduated from a diploma program and want to further their academic credentials. The RN-BSN degree can increase opportunities for employment, add responsibilities, and allow for career progression. Likewise, earning this degree provides an opportunity for professional certification in a nursing specialty as a nurse practitioner, nurse educator, nurse anesthetist, clinical nurse specialist, or an administration position. Those interested in pursuing a doctoral degree will also find this program instructive as a foundational experience.

    School Overview

    The demand for quality nurses was high during World War II, so Cabarrus County Hospital in Concord, North Carolina, established a school of nursing in 1942, initially enrolling sixteen students. The hospital continued to support the education of nurses and by the end of the twentieth century, the school added degree programs and assumed a new title, Cabarrus College of Health Sciences. Cabarrus College awards associate’s and bachelor’s degrees, along with diplomas and certificates.

    Programs at Cabarrus College of Health Sciences focus on nursing and health profession programs. Cabarrus offers both bachelor’s and associate’s degrees in Nursing. Currently, distance learning students can pursue three different online/blended learning degree programs at Cabarrus College of Health Sciences, along with a large number of online courses. Online classes incorporate asynchronous or synchronous lessons with interactive discussion boards and group work.
