Program Details

The online Graduate Certificate in Teaching English as a Second Language program is intended to enhance the skills of educators who hold degrees and teaching licenses.  The curriculum is designed to prepare practicing professionals to teach English as a second language in public and private K-12 educational settings.  The primary goal of this program is to provide teachers with knowledge of second language acquisition, assessment procedures, skills, and techniques to more effectively address the academic and social challenges presented by an increasingly diverse population of students.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited institution
  • Minimum undergraduate college GPA of 2.75 (Applicants who cannot meet this requirement may be considered for probationary admission status)
  • Copy of a valid K-12 teaching certificate or license
