Associates in Mathematics

Program Details

Bucks County Community College offers an Associates in Mathematics for students interested in developing an understanding of the principles and application of mathematics for theoretical, business, practical, and scientific purposes. Through this program, students will develop a specialized knowledge in algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, and advanced studies in linear algebra and mathematical theory. In addition, this program provides the basis in science and mathematics necessary for future educations and careers in a variety of fields.

Students will take part in a curriculum which will develop general education and knowledge in a variety of fields for application in future studies. Those classes include computer science, chemistry, physics, English composition, effective speaking, calculus, linear algebra, cultural perspectives, integration of knowledge, personal health, and social perspectives.

Upon completion of the program, students will have demonstrated the necessary qualifications for future studies in mathematics and the sciences, as well as entry-level positions in business or the sciences.  These qualifications include but are not limited to the ability to accurately interpret and translate pictorial and descriptive information into mathematical statements, to solve problems quantitatively and communicate results clearly, to demonstrate understanding of functions, limits, differentiation and integration, and to demonstrate computational skills in areas of applied mathematics.


Placement test (exempt for recent graduates with a 3.0 GPA or higher in high school).
