Program Details

The online AS in Secondary Education degree with an emphasis in Mathematics is designed for students who plan to teach Mathematics in a high school setting. Courses provide the first two years of requirements for an undergraduate baccalaureate degree. Graduates are prepared to transfer to a four-year college or university, and possess the knowledge and skills needed to:

  • Accurately interpret and translate pictoral and descriptive information into mathematical statements
  • Solve problems quantitatively and communicate results clearly
  • Demonstrate understanding of numberic, algebraic, and geometric reasoning
  • Demonstrate computational skills in areas of applied mathematics
