Program Details

The Advanced Standing track of Brescia University’s online master’s in Social Work allows qualified students to complete the program with half the credit hours required of the standard online MSW. To be approved for this track, applicants must have recently received a bachelor’s in Social Work from an accredited school with a required minimum GPA.

Students will be prepared with the advanced skills needed by social workers across the country. Graduates of the online MSW with Advanced Standing can expect to be able to provide therapy, address complex issues, utilize evidence-based interventions, engage in scientific research, and take on leadership roles in their profession.

The program includes online courses, field work, and a capstone project that combines the knowledge, skills, and abilities students have developed throughout their time in the program.

Students will study topics such as:

  • Motivational interviewing for addictive behaviors
  • Advanced policy practice

  • Spiritual issues in later life
  • Organizational leadership
