Graduate students interested in acquiring the advanced knowledge and skills in healthcare administration can participate in Brandman University’s online and on campus Masters degree program emphasizing a concentration in Health Administration. The Master of Health Innovation (MHI) degree is designed to build on already learned knowledge and skills of basic health care practices, while also introducing the essential concepts of concern within the ever-changing healthcare system. Students will study issues and methodologies creating new and innovative ideas to facilitate a health care program with improved care, lowered costs, new ideas; as well as policy delivery, laws, ethics and health care economics.
The modern program allows busy professionals the opportunity to earn the valuable education, while spending limited time at an actual brick-and-mortar location. Students are required to attend the Irvine, California location several times a year, to demonstrate extensive relationship-building with faculty, a capstone project and in-depth collaboration in learning. The flexible MHI program should give successful students the most current education related to Health Administration while also recognizing the non-traditional schedules of medical and healthcare professionals.
Students must satisfy the 36 credits required for completion of the MHI degree program. The program is comprised of 27 core Healthcare Innovation courses, delving into topics of Technology and Information Access,Population Health: Metrics and Payment Models, Diffusion of Healthcare Innovation, Quality Management, Outcome Management and Health Policy and Regulation. The remaining 9 credits are allocated towards the students concentration in Healthcare Administration. The Administration concentration will introduce students to the essential concepts of understanding: Healthcare Organization, Policy, and Delivery, Law, Ethics, and Health Services and Healthcare Economics.
Graduates should be able to demonstrate the key skills of leaders, as well as apply the constantly changing healthcare regulations. Graduates of the MHI degree may use the formal education to excel in the industry, performing responsibilities crucial to providing leadership, management and administration skills in organizations such as hospitals, health care systems, and public health systems.
