Program Details

The online Master of Arts in Special Education program prepares students to advocate for those with disabilities and improve teaching strategies to enhance their students’ performances.  The curriculum addresses educational learning needs, intervention strategies, best practices for instruction and assessment, services for those with disabilities and their families, and about appropriate educational technology for addressing and identifying behavioral needs.  Concentrations are available in: Advanced Methodology, Autism, Behavior Analysis, Early Childhood, Teaching and Learning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher
  • Hold a current special education teaching credential or take EDUU 511 Collaboration For Inclusive Schooling
  • Official transcripts from all regionally accredited institutions
  • Two letters of recommendation
  • A 3.0 GPA calculated over the most recent 30 graded semester credits completed in either a baccalaureate or post baccalaureate program OR A GPA of 2.5 or higher calculated over the most recent graded 30 semester credits and satisfactory graduate admission exam scores OR an earned master's degree or higher OR submission of a portfolio showing adequate preparation for graduate studies
