Management And Leadership
Bluefield College offers a Degree in Management and Leadership for students who are interested in beginning their career with managerial positions in business or other organizational environments. Students will develop the required knowledge of multiple aspects of business, technology and database resources. These include personnel and staffing, issues of finance and accounting, and an understanding of human resources and the general operations of a firm in order to best manage and administrate its activities. In addition, students will develop their leadership capacities as they relate to strategic planning, ethics, personal integrity, and the overall functions of management.
The program consists of 36 credit hours of classroom courses in which students will develop their understanding of business management responsibilities and develop their leadership capabilities. Those classes include leadership and change management, foundations of management, and introduction to leadership.
Students who successfully complete this degree will have proven their capability and qualifications in management and leadership. These include demonstrating competency in the core areas to business, utilizing different leadership strategies to motivate employees and effectively manage organizations, and understanding techniques for achieving competitive advantage in the global market environment. Students should also be able to demonstrate written and oral communication skills for effective performance in the workplace, to show competencies in the methods of inquiry to solve organizational problems, and to have an understanding of business financial management including financial statement analysis, financing, and investing. Some other qualifications include having an understanding of law of contracts and legal and ethical issues involved with business management, and understanding the research process and its application.

Established by the Baptist General Association, Bluefield admitted its first students in 1922. Today, Bluefield College is a four-year, private, not-for-profit institution of higher learning, located in the southwestern city of Bluefield, Virginia. Bluefield College awards bachelor's and master's degrees and retains articulation agreements with a number of Virginia schools. Bluefield College’s Online Degree Program provides accredited distance education options for adult students that feature accelerated formats, allowing students with necessary credits to earn a degree in 13 months. Distance education degrees include studies in three schools:

- School of Nursing
The eLearning environment focuses on concepts that mirror that of the real-world.
