Associate in Science (AS)
Black Hawk College offers an Associate in Arts degree. Students who intend to transfer to a four-year college or university will meet with an academic advisor and select courses appropriate for their major at a specific four-year college or university. Students undecided about their major will choose a variety of courses to fulfill their interests.
The first two years of a baccalaureate degree at a four-year college or university are devoted primarily to general education courses. Typically a small number of introductory courses for a specific major are taken during the first two years. Academic advisors work closely with students to assure that suitable courses are scheduled.
Students will take courses in English, Communications, Social and Behavioral Sciences, Mathematics, Physical Science, Mathematics, Computer Science, Fine Arts, Humanities, Life Science, Social and Behavioral Sciences, and Non-Western Studies. Students are required to take a minimum of 64 credits.
