The online Associate in Applied Science in Child Development program prepares individuals to work in settings that care for and educate children. The curriculum teaches the essentials of designing curriculum, creating lesson plans, and introducing activities appropriate for children. Individuals also learn observation and assessment techniques, positive discipline, communication, CPR, first aid, safety, and nutrition. This degree requires courses in general studies and courses specific to the child development discipline.
