The online Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies degree gives students the formal education needed to enter into specific fields or as a foundation for furthering their degree pursuits at a master’s level. Students will receive an advanced understanding of the Bible and understand the impact written scripture may have on contemporary theology. The curriculum will help students understand the major tenets of Calvinism, Arminianism, Existentialism, and Liberation Theology; define and defend their faith from conservative, evangelical viewpoints; and demonstrate a working knowledge of Bible doctrine. You will be able to demonstrate a working knowledge of both the Old and New Testaments and an intensive knowledge of scripture content in all given areas of electives along with a maturing Christian experience as a result of direct Bible study. Graduates will be able to defend a conviction that scripture is God breathed; state and defend a worldview that is consistent with biblical revelation and stated in theological terms; and defend biblical Christianity in the face of attacks from scientism, historical criticism, philosophy, cults, and non-Christian religions.
