In 1976, Dr. David Yonggi Cho, with the support of the now Yoido Pentecostal Church, founded an institution of higher learning in order to prepare Christian leaders for global missions and careers. First assuming the title Full Gospel Central Bible College, located in Anaheim, California, the college evolved, adding academic programs and gaining accreditation. The name also changed to Bethesda Christian University, and today this private, four-year institution is known as Bethesda University of California. BUC still retains a Christ-centered mission dedicated to the instruction of Korean and English speaking students.
Students enrolled in Bethesda University can pursue both undergraduate and graduate degrees. In step with the global vision, the Bethesda University of California Online Degree program offers opportunities to an unlimited geographic region. Online degree programs include bachelor's and master's programs in religious fields.
