Program Details

Berkeley College offers a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Health Services for students who are interested in entering the health care field as a doctor, a nurse, or a variety of other medical positions. Through the program, students will prepare for medical and health studies by learning about the important business and technology skills needed for administration, insurance, billing, and other services.  Students will learn about operations and challenges of different types of institutions as well as operations and challenges for different sized institutions that are providing health services.

The program consists of classroom courses which emphasize real-world education through examination of cases and education which will be applicable on the job. Those classes include introduction to health services, medical terminology, ethical and legal aspects of health services, health communications, health services management, computer applications in health services, health services finance, research methods for health services, special topics in health services management, fundamentals of accounting for managers, managerial accounting, business organization and management, career management, principles of finance, principles of management, organizational behavior, and human resources management.

Through completion of the program, students will have demonstrated the professionalism and skill necessary to earn the degree. The qualifications demonstrate the student has been able to apply the principles they learned in the program into their eventual development as a functional affective professional in their field.  These qualifications include but are not limited to: the ability to demonstrate understanding of the structure and dynamics of the healthcare industry, and to demonstrate an understanding of the role and contributions of hospitals, rehabilitation centers, long-term care facilities, and medical practitioners.


Requires 120 credit hours for completion. Application requires: certification of high school graduation or the equivalent as recognized by state departments of education. Official transcripts.
