The Associate in Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting is an online liberal arts degree for students interested in careers in the accounting field. The curriculum integrates accounting, business, and liberal arts courses needs to enhance critical thinking, analytical, decision-making, and communication skills required by contemporary accountants. Students will learn to apply generally accepted accounting principles to the recording and reporting of business transactions, prepare financial statements in accordance with GAAP, and understand the importance of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act. You will learn to identify the responsibilities and requirements of ethical behavior incumbent upon management and the outside auditors and to use financial information to perform managerial decision making. Graduates are competent in computer business applications including word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation software and can present ideas in an effective manner for a professional audience.
