Bergen Community College offers an Associate of Art degree in Sociology, an online liberal arts degree for those interested in learning about cultures and structures of human societies. The curriculum focuses on social groups and institution, norms and controls, and the reasons why and how they change. You will learn about family, education, deviance, race and ethnicity, gender roles, social change, and social inequalities. With this liberal arts degree, students gain a foundation in sociology, psychology, human services, and business. You will also take a wide variety of general education courses, including literature, philosophy and religion, college algebra, oral communications, English, psychology, history, diversity, and more.
