Program Overview

The Nonprofit Management Program is designed to serve those currently in or interested in careers in the non-governmental nonprofit sector. The program provides basic competence in key areas of non-governmental, nonprofit organization management including an application-based understanding of those strategies necessary to create and enhance organizational sustainability. Also included are the identification of philanthropic networks and grant development, financial management, strategic and project-based management and how the regulatory environment influences the design, structure and operation of the non-governmental, nonprofit organization.

The Nonprofit Management program contains four core courses and four courses, which concentrate heavily in the field of study. The first two courses of the Business Capitalism Core provide skill development in the areas of advanced business communication, team building, social networking tools and developing applied business decision making skills including computer-based and data analysis skills. The last two courses of the Management Capitalism Core focus upon business principles and areas common to all-cohort based business programs including accounting, the legal and regulatory environment of business, finance, human resources, ethics and marketing. Developing strong competency in courses three and four, set the stage for specific and intensive study in the students' major area.

    Bellevue is a private, non-profit university that was originally founded by Bill Brooks, a Bellevue, Nebraska Chamber of Commerce member, in 1966. The institution later became Bellevue University in 1994. In 1996, Bellevue was one of the first accredited universities to offer online degree programs and the very first to offer an online Masters of Business Administration degree.

    Bellevue University offers classes for degree completion ranging from bachelor's level to doctoral level. With 12 locations in five states, including its main suburban campus in Bellevue, Nebraska, as well as classes worldwide through its online learning platform, students have a variety of options in which they can complete their degrees.
