Bay State College offers an Online Business Management degree with a specialization in Healthcare Management for students whose interests involve business and the healthcare industry, providing services to customers and operations in an organization which is either for profit or not-for-profit. Students will expand their knowledge of the healthcare delivery system and the different health services that are available to the public. In addition, students will learn about the fundamental roles and functions of business and how businesses operate in a health care environment.
Students will study classes which will provide a general education background necessary for entry-level positions in business and provide the background for future studies. Those classes include literature microeconomics, English, college algebra, statistics, computer and information literacy, psychology, public speaking, introduction to business, macroeconomics, introduction to health care, finance, sociology, writing for business, health care ethics, healthcare delivery systems, human resources management, anatomy and physiology, anthropology of heath and wellness, financial accounting, business law, and management.
Through the program, students will have demonstrated their capability of functioning within the field of health care, as well as demonstrate the academic credentials needed for future studies. These qualifications include but are not limited to the ability to understand business structures relating to the health care and health services industries, to demonstrate an understanding of the fundamental aspects of biology and physiology in health care, to demonstrate an understanding of core business practices utilized by typical businesses and the healthcare industry, and to demonstrate a core educational background necessary for future studies.

In 1946, Bay State College limited instruction to enhancing skill sets for students entering the airline industry. Then in 1961, Bay State relocated to its current campus in Back Bay, Boston. By 1975, the college expanded programs to offer Associate’s degrees, and gained accreditation in 1989. Bay State introduced Bachelor’s degree programs in 2004. Currently, the private, not-for-profit Bay State College houses the main downtown Boston campus, along with a satellite campus in Middleborough, Massachusetts, and a third online division.
Students can complete online degrees through the distance learning campus at Bay State College. Online courses feature asynchronous instructor-guided sessions, complete with assignments and class activities. In addition, classes operate on the same schedule as on-campus counterparts, with eight-week long classes conducted in six terms per academic year. Students participating in on-campus day or evening programs may also enroll in online classes to accommodate busy lifestyles. Online students also have access to resources, including the Bay State College Library and its extensive online database.
