Program Overview

Bay Path University works hard to make obtaining an advanced education as easy and convenient as possible. The school understands the busy lives of working professionals and has worked to adapt their scheduling to fit these needs. Not only is the scheduling convenient, but Bay Path has adapted to ensure that the program offerings also fit the needs of today’s students. One such program designed to fit a growing industry need is the Master’s of Science degree in Communications and Information Management (CIM).

Communications and information management are, more and more, becoming integrated into the same sector of business. This meshing of different disciplines requires professionals in the field to obtain a diverse skill-set – dealing both with communications, technology, information management, and its seamless integration and flow in the workplace. Bay Path’s CIM program equips students with these skills.

Through the program, students will learn about basic business models and practices so as to better achieve their job’s needs. Courses teach organizational models for efficiency, decision making skills, data requirements, implementation of technology in day-to-day operations, and how to integrate new technology in the ever advancing world. Further, students will learn to assess risk, take chances, stand behind their decisions, and work as a team player and leader. This degree is applicable in a number of different sectors and career statuses – working professionals, educators, and executives and management in fields of health care, media, education, consulting, data networking, corporations, and more can all benefit from this program.

The CIM degree requires students to complete 36 credits of work, which equates to 12 courses. Courses include Professional Communication Strategies, Database Management System, and Strategies for Internet Commerce. All requirements can be completed online. Bay Path offers two degree completion tracks: a one year program and a two year program. Those wishing to complete the program in one year will be required to take two (2) courses each 8-week term, while students choosing the two year option will only take one (1) course each 8-week term.

Persons interested in learning more about the CIM program are encouraged to participate in one of the school’s many informational webinars. Details about these webinars can be found on the program website.

    School Overview

Bay Path University, located on a 48 acre campus in the historic town of Longmeadow, Massachusetts, is a private women’s college that was founded in 1897. At the time of its founding, Bay Path was located in Springfield, Massachusetts, and existed as a co-educational college that offered degrees in accounting, secretarial science, business teacher training and business administration.  The college moved its location to Longmeadow, Massachusetts, in 1945, at which time it became a single-sex institution, enrolling only women.

Bay Path has an online program that is available for both men and women and is a flexible and supportive option for working adults that aspire to earn a degree, but are not able to attend campus classes due to their busy schedules. Students in the online program have the option of attending solely online, or if they are able to attend some classes on campus, they can combine the campus classes and online classes.
