Program Details

The online Master of Arts in Education in Literacy program helps educators develop strategies to teach literacy more effectively and thereby enhance student achievement.  The curriculum focuses on evaluation methods and instructional approaches, diagnostic and corrective reading methods, research in literacy education, and a survey of literature appropriate for children and adolescents.  Graduates are prepared to assess, plan for, and implement programs that increase literacy skills and have the knowledge and skills needed to provide intensive instruction for struggling students.  The courses in this program can be taken independently for the K-12 reading endorsement or can be taken as part of the degree program.
