The Master of Arts in Corporate Communication Degree from Austin Peay State University is designed for current business professionals working in the communication industry. This program is able to be completed entirely online, through the fast-track plan of study, though students may be able to complete it through the traditional professional-track as well. This distance format is ideal for working professionals in need of flexible coursework and access to support and materials. Graduates should be prepared to apply for positions in integrated marketing communication, which includes advertising, sales, and public relations. Individuals may also go on to doctoral study in the field of communication.
To complete this program, those enrolled must earn a total of 34 hours of credit. 13 credits come from a set of required core courses including Communication Research Methods, Applied Communication Theory, and Integrated Corporate Communication. Students will also need to participate in a Proseminar in Communication. 3 or six credits come from the research component and the remaining 15 to 18 from additional communications electives.
The research component requires the completion of either a Research Project or Master's Thesis, depending on a student's intent or strengths. Typically, those seeking employment upon graduation opt for the Research Project, while those that wish to pursue doctoral study complete the thesis. The thesis is six credits, requiring 15 hours of electives, while the research project is 3 and requiring 18 hours of electives.

Applicants must have earned a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution while maintaining a minimum 2.5 GPA. They should also submit GRE scores [only for the verbal and quantitative tests]. No GRE is required for students with a 3.5 undergraduate GPA.

Today, Austin Peay State University (APSU) is a four-year public institution of higher education, and its main campus is located in the city of Clarksville, Tennessee. Austin Peay State University hosts distance education degrees and courses through APSU Online and Regents Online Degree Programs (RODP).
Online degrees include associate’s, bachelor’s, and master’s degrees, and a teacher education and licensure program. Students can enroll in the Associate of Science Liberal Arts program or pursue a bachelor degree, including, but not limited to, fields of: communication, computer science, criminal justice, medical technology, nursing, political science, public management, and professional studies. Master’s degrees range from studies in education and communication to professional studies and nursing. Educator programs include add-on endorsements and professional development. Some programs are hybrid and do require on-campus components, while other courses may require proctored exams. Coursework is asynchronous, but classes follow that of traditional calendars with set assignments and deadlines. Online classes have the same start date as on-campus counterparts.
