Bachelor of Professional Studies - International Organizational Leadership
Austin Peay State University
The Bachelor of Professional Studies Degree with an International Organizational Leadership concentration program is available at Austin Peay State University and is offered through the Regents Online Campus Collaborative. The ROCC is a cooperation between certain colleges and universities to create a combined and cooperative program between their institutions.
It is the goal of this program to ready graduates for pursuing careers that span geographies, business lines, and cultures. Students may gain practical and relevant knowledge in organization, leadership, and management. The program intends to produce graduates that can formulate market entry strategies for new and existing companies. These individuals should also be able to give advice on legal concerns in the business world and aid organizations with administrative issues. As there is increasing globalization, there is also a growing demand for people that have knowledge of international business, different cultures, and foreign languages.
To complete this program, students are required to earn a total of 120 hours of credit. Of this total, 41 hours come from the general education core at APSU. This includes English Composition, English Composition II, and Fundamentals of Public Speaking. Other credits come from courses in history, the humanities, mathematics, the natural sciences, or the social and behavioral sciences.
The Professional core of the BPS program requires the completion of 21 credits of coursework from a variety of topics that instruct in different cultures, communication, and management. The International Organizational Leadership concentration consists of 15 credits and includes classes like International Law and Intercultural Communication. Students are able to earn 21 additional credits from this concentration, though that total can be satisfied by additional general education classes. A Culminating Special Project class is also prescribed; students carry out a research project or paper that showcases the knowledge gained during their time at APSU.
