Master of Education in Foreign Language Education: Spanish
The Spanish Foreign Language program prepares teachers for secondary grades 6-12. This program includes coursework in a second language with a supporting course in speech that provides students with the second language skill necessary to teach required and elective courses in state-approved foreign language curricula. Professional education coursework provides theory-based knowledge, pedagogical knowledge and skills, and the monitored practice in public schools that prospective teachers need to create effective instruction for learning second languages and cultures.
Distance program offerings in Foreign Language Education: Spanish include the alternative master’s, traditional master’s, and education specialist degrees. Courses are primarily offered synchronously via online streaming video. Students can consult the Program Coordinator for additional program specific information relating to technology, exam, software/hardware, and technical competence requirements.
