General Studies-Associate in Science
Atlantic Cape Community College
The General Studies program from Atlantic Cape Community College is designed for students who are undecided about a career and who wish to explore different fields; this program can lead to various baccalaureate degrees.
Nearly three-quarters of the required courses are traditional liberal arts and easily transfer to four-year institutions. The remaining courses can be in any subject area, but students should be aware that courses in specific career areas may not easily transfer.
It is important that students meet with an advisor to choose their courses, based on their career plans. It is recommended that they take the elective courses in their first two semesters in order to best explore various career possibilities. Students take basic General Education courses, which they can use to transfer to a four-year institution.
