Prospective students seeking computer-based system skills to utilize in a business need a broad yet computer specific education. Athabasca University offers a Bachelor of Science in Computing & Information Systems degree to teach students how to utilize IT and incorporate it into their organizations. The curriculum balances out two broad areas of focus:

  • Computer Science – developing infrastructure and systems for computer processes
  • Information Systems – acquiring and developing IT resources

Some of the program learning outcomes include applying this knowledge to analytical problems, collaborating or working independently on projects, and demonstrating professionalism in ethical practices.
