Program Details

A Bachelor of Arts degree in Labour Studies is available online with Athabasca University.  This interdisciplinary program provides students with abilities and methodologies to accurately assess the place of working people and labour in society.  Studies include but are not limited to:

History
Sociology
Political economy
Women’s studies
Industrial relations

This degree may best benefit trade union leaders and members as a means to better understand social and political conditions of labour in society today.  Students will take courses such as labour history, work organization, theory and practice of trade unions, and options from other academic areas.  Graduates with this degree may pursue careers such as conciliators, training specialists, trade union officers, and more.
