Master of Engineering Area of Study: Systems Engineering
Arizona State University Online offers a Master of Engineering in Systems Engineering for students who are interested in working in creation of entire complex products, processes and services from the perspective of the creation of system production. Students will develop an understanding of defined needs and customer needs through the system design process in order to create a system which meets the needs of the client with few revisions or redesigns which can be costly or time consuming. Students will study the production cycle, the production cycle, and project management as part of creation of complex systems development or program systems.
The program consists of classroom courses that emphasize real-world education through examination of cases and education that will be applicable on the job. Those classes include industrial electronics and applications, electronic test systems and applications, digital real-time control, system dynamics and control, power electronics, instrumentation and measurement systems, electronic circuits, digital real-time controls, energy conversion and applications, digital signal processing, and control system technology.
Through completion of the program, students will have demonstrated the professionalism and skill necessary to earn the degree. The qualifications demonstrate the student has been able to apply the principles learned in the program into their eventual development as a functional affective professional in their field.
These qualifications include the ability to apply mathematical and computing concepts to support programming logic, functions, data structures, and database access, to analyze a problem to identify and define the computing requirements appropriate to its solution, to design a computer-based system, process, component, or program to meet defined needs, to implement the design of a computer-based system, process, component, or program, and to incorporate user needs in the selection, creation, evaluation, and administration of computer-based systems.
