Transitional Doctor of Physical Therapy Program
The field of physical therapy has been one of the fastest growing professions over the last 10 years, and the need for well-educated therapists is still extremely high. Arcadia University is currently offering a Transitional Doctor of Physical Therapy Program that will be useful to physical therapists currently practicing. This online program seeks to inspire educated students with the ability to evaluate new methods and procedures as they develop. Graduates will learn how to not only integrate new teachings but how to function as an effective teacher for others. Current physical therapists who wish to take a leadership or consulting role in the field may find what they are looking for with this program. Upon matriculation, students will also have the opportunity to communicate and build relationships with other physical therapy professionals through online message boards and services.
The curriculum consists of 12 minimum credit hours, but up to 18 are available for students who are looking to have a full knowledge experience. Practicing physical therapists may apply for credit waivers based on prior experiences upon submission of an experience portfolio. This program can be completed in as little as 1 year, but students are only required to take one course per semester. The program will cover major clinical practices and included classes on a variety of specific therapy such as Orthopedic, Neurological and Cardiopulmonary.
To be admitted into this program, individuals must provide proof of graduation from a physical therapist degree program accredited by an agency approved by the U.S Department of Education with a grade point average of 2.75 or better.
