Apex School of Theology
The Apex School of Theology offers a Master of Divinity degree program. The Master of Divinity degree serves in the ELCA and many other denominations as the basic degree to prepare for ordained ministry in congregations and other settings. The degree program includes both academic studies and practical learning experience. The Master of Divinity (MDiv) program fosters students understanding of church and ministry in the contemporary world, and students ability to work meaningfully and creatively in a vocation of religious leadership. The program increases students knowledge and strengthens their ability to integrate their understanding of the various disciplines of theology and ministry with their experience of the church and the world.
In order to graduate with a Bachelor's Degree, the student must successfully complete ninety (0 credit hours including all core and elective courses for Master of Divinity. Master of Divinity (MDIV) degree is a progressive and comprehensive program of this most recognized theological degree; designed for those seeking careers in ministry; including parish ministry, chaplaincy, not-for-profits and other religious leadership areas. The MDIV is the primary way to meet educational requirements for those seeking ordination in most traditions. Students have access to the admission policy of ASOT as found in the Graduate Student Handbook. Assessment forms and records are kept on file to assess that procedures are in place for monitoring how special students are benefited and serviced. When a student does not meet all the graduates standards for admission or its equivalent, the student must demonstrate the ability to benefit from the educational programs offered by Apex School of Theology. Life experience will also be considered.

Apex School of Theology, Durham, NC accreditation is granted through Transnational Association of Christian Colleges and Schools, (TRACS). TRACS is recognized by the United States Department of Education (USDE), the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and the International Network for Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education (INQAAHE).
Apex School of Theology offers a Master of Divinity. In order to graduate with a Bachelor's Degree, the student must meet the following requirements:
1. Successfully complete ninety (90) credit hours including all core and or electives for
Master of Divinity
2. All financial obligations must be met.
The ASOT provides theological education to prepare clergy and laity for service in churches, Christian ministries and the community. The institution’s educational programs are intended to increase the student’s level of knowledge, as well as remain committed to maintaining its diverse student body, faculty and staff. The institution’s history is grounded in the African-American religious experience.

The educational and service programs provide theological education and training to a constituency of mature, bi-vocational, and commuting students. These services are intended to enhance the student’s skills, and expand the student’s awareness, as well as broaden the student’s perspective quality of life. The curriculum is designed and implemented to prepare the clergy and laity for various ministries in theology and general education.
