The Bachelor of Theology degree combines a rigorous academic training in Theology with a strong emphasis on theological reflection on ministerial practice. The Theology program requires the ability to use the principles of biblical interpretation to identify and evaluate basic elements of theological thought through systematic analysis of statements of truth, theologies, and doctrines of the Christian faith. Graduates who earn a degree in Theology are capable of effective, culturally relevant ministry through academic study, ministerial training, and spiritual and professional formation.
The course aims to enable students to integrate knowledge of biblical, doctrinal, historical and pastoral studies, contributing to their formation for Christian ministry. Students are offered the opportunity to reflect deeply and critically on the role of the minister in contemporary society, and to acquire key skills for ministry. The college follows an open admissions policy for those who meet the spiritual and educational qualifications outlined. All applicants for admission to Apex School of Theology must show evidence of Christian character and competent scholastic by providing a spiritual autobiography. The student shall subscribe to, or not be antagonistic toward, the Statement of Faith as outlined in this catalog. Successful applicants should also embody a Godly life and possess a teachable spirit.
When a student does not possess a high school diploma or its equivalent, the student must demonstrate the ability to benefit from the educational programs offered by Apex School of Theology. Such student must achieve an acceptable score on an independently administered test that gives indication that the student may benefit from the training offered by the School. Life experience will also be considered.

Apex School of Theology, Durham, NC accreditation is granted through Transnational Association of Christian Colleges and Schools, (TRACS). TRACS is recognized by the United States Department of Education (USDE), the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and the International Network for Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education (INQAAHE).
Apex School of Theology offers an Bachelors of Theology Degree. In order to graduate with an Bachelors Degree, the student must meet the following requirements:
1. Successfully complete one-hundred twenty-eight (128) credit hours including all core and or electives for Bachelors Degree.
2. All financial obligations must be met.
The ASOT provides theological education to prepare clergy and laity for service in churches, Christian ministries and the community. The institution’s educational programs are intended to increase the student’s level of knowledge, as well as remain committed to maintaining its diverse student body, faculty and staff. The institution’s history is grounded in the African-American religious experience.
The institution expresses its commitment to the student’s overall development by promoting life-long learning, scholarly inquiry, and a commitment of service to others. The educational and service programs provide theological education and training to a constituency of mature, bi-vocational, and commuting students. These services are intended to enhance the student’s skills, and expand the student’s awareness, as well as broaden the student’s perspective quality of life. The curriculum is designed and implemented to prepare the clergy and laity for various ministries in theology and general education.
