The Associate Degree In Christian Education (A.C.E.) major course requirement will be to research, plan, lead and evaluate a local church program wherein students will gain experience in the use of a planning model, leadership skills, theological understandings, and Biblical materials. All applicants for admission to Apex School of Theology must show evidence of Christian character and competent scholastic by providing a spiritual autobiography. The Associate of Christian Education program is designed to promote growth toward personal maturity and professional ministry competence in students.
The objectives of the program are accomplished through classroom instruction, the modeling of professors, the practice of ministry through the Practical Missions program, chapel services, and student organizations. The Associate of Christian Education program seeks to guide students to understand and interpret the Christian faith in the light of its biblical, theological, and historical dimensions, and to utilize insights gained from these disciplines for the effective practice of ministry in the church, community, and world. The student shall subscribe to, or not be antagonistic toward, the Statement of Faith as outlined in this catalog. Successful applicants should also embody a Godly life and possess a teachable spirit. When a student does not possess a high school diploma or its equivalent, the student must demonstrate the ability to benefit from the educational programs offered by Apex School of Theology. Such student must achieve an acceptable score on an independently administered test that gives indication that the student may benefit from the training offered by the School. Life experience will also be considered.

Apex School of Theology, Durham, NC accreditation is granted through Transnational Association of Christian Colleges and Schools, (TRACS). TRACS is recognized by the United States Department of Education (USDE), the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and the International Network for Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education (INQAAHE).
Apex School of Theology offers an Associate Degree in Christian Education. In order to graduate with an Associate Degree, the student must meet the following requirements:
1. Successfully complete sixty (60) credit hours including all core and or electives for Associates Degree.
2. All financial obligations must be met.
The ASOT provides theological education to prepare clergy and laity for service in churches, Christian ministries and the community. The institution’s educational programs are intended to increase the student’s level of knowledge, as well as remain committed to maintaining its diverse student body, faculty and staff. The institution’s history is grounded in the African-American religious experience.
The institution expresses its commitment to the student’s overall development by promoting life-long learning, scholarly inquiry, and a commitment of service to others. Programs and services are geared towards promoting and nurturing student’s growth and development as persons who appreciate cultural diversity, and embody a sense of civic, social and religious responsibility. ASOT follows an open door admission policy based on the necessity of responding to each person at the appropriate individual level of ability and development. ASOT is an interdenominational, interracial, and gender inclusive community modeled on diversity, which constitutes the Body of Christ.
The educational and service programs provide theological education and training to a constituency of mature, bi-vocational, and commuting students. These services are intended to enhance the student’s skills, and expand the student’s awareness, as well as broaden the student’s perspective quality of life. The curriculum is designed and implemented to prepare the clergy and laity for various ministries in theology and general education.
