Program Overview

The Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a concentration in Health Care Management program is offered by Anderson University to interested students. Graduates of this program should be prepared for entry or mid-level positions such as general management and managerial accounting. This program is the undergraduate equivalent of a Master of Business Administration. Thus, graduates of this program should also be prepared to continue their educational pursuits toward that degree. The curriculum of this program is designed to cover topics in the health care administration field by integrating general education with business and health care related courses.

This program is split into cores of required courses. A student must take 120 credit hours of courses in order to graduate with the Bachelor of Business Administration. Students must take 42 semester hours of general education courses, since this program is based in the liberal arts. These courses include subjects such as communications and humanities. Students also have 15 open electives. A student should choose their electives according to their personal interests, career goals, or educational goals. There are 39 credit hours of required Business courses. These courses include computer information systems, economics, and finance.

The business administration program aims to prepare its students with a wide variety of competencies related to business and health care. Students must also take 24 semester hours of business electives, which should be taken in specialized areas of business related to the student’s career goals. These courses include: Strategic Management for Health Care Organizations, Principles and Methods of Epidemiology, and Ethics and Legal Issues in United States Health Care.
