Bachelor Of Science: Liberal Studies
Amridge University offers a Bachelor of Science degree in Liberal Studies for students who are interested in the academic foundation for advanced studies, such as a Master of Arts, Master of Science, or Master of Divinity. Students will be prepared to transfer their work, knowledge, and credits from their accomplishments at the bachelor level to future educational opportunities.
The program consists of classroom courses that emphasize real-world education through examination of cases and other real-world examples in education that will be applicable on the job. Those classes include English literature, readings in classics, readings in history, readings in natural science, readings in philosophy and theology, world views of humanism, Marxism, and Christianity, systematic theology, economic principles, literature of the Americas, an introduction and survey of the New Testament, an introduction and survey of the Old Testament, and several bible and theology courses and general electives.
Through completion of the program, students will have demonstrated the professionalism and skill necessary to have earned their degree. The qualifications demonstrate that the student has been able to apply the principles they learned in the program into their development as a functional and affective professional in their field. These qualifications include the ability to demonstrate acquired skills and knowledge in general education areas that are the foundation to life skills and further education, to demonstrate basic knowledge in bible and ministry which will provide the basis for further study, to demonstrate a basic knowledge in several areas of liberal studies, and to develop a broad foundation for advanced studies.

Amridge University is a private, non-profit university that is affiliated with the Churches of Christ. Amridge University was founded in 1967, in Montgomery, AL and was originally known as the Alabama Christian School of Religion. Throughout its history, Amridge University has primarily served as a theological seminary, training ministers in Bible and Christian counseling, but has expanded its educational programs over the years and now offers additional degrees, all of which are taught from a Christian perspective. Amridge’s Turner School of Theology is a central part of the university and offers all levels of degrees in ministry and theology.
Primarily a distance learning university offering all of its programs online, Amridge University also offers classes at its 9-acre campus, located in Montgomery, Alabama. The Amridge campus consists of a single structure, known as the Morgan W. Brown Building that contains the universities classrooms, library and administrative offices. Satellite campuses exist in Nashville, Tennesee, and Phoenix, Arizona.
