Program Overview

Amridge University offers a Bachelor of Science in Human Resource Leadership for students who are interested in enhancing human effort, human relationship, and leadership. Through the program, and by learning to focus on maintaining, securing, and effectively working with those who make up an organization, students will utilize their resources to promoting the efficiency and competitiveness of businesses and act as a leader and manager. Students will learn how to act as a leader and how to govern, measure, integrate, and reward those within an organization.

The program consists of classroom courses that emphasize real-world education through examination of cases and other real-world examples in education that will be applicable on the job. Those classes include human resource management analysis and procedures, employment law for organizations, fundamentals of effective leadership, organizational theory and behavior, professional public relations, management principles, contemporary supervision, leadership principles and ethics, business law, money management and personal finance, human labor relations, and motivation and performance.

Through completion of the program, students will have demonstrated the professionalism and skill necessary to have earned their degree. The qualifications demonstrate that the student has been able to apply the principles learned in the program into their development as a functional and affective professional. These qualifications include the ability to demonstrate developed skills and knowledge necessary to effectively function in human resources management, to demonstrate acquired skills and knowledge in general education areas that are the foundation to life skills and further education, to demonstrate gained basic knowledge of management principles, and to develop a basic understanding of organizational leadership.

    School Overview

    Amridge University is a private, non-profit university that is affiliated with the Churches of Christ. Amridge University was founded in 1967, in Montgomery, AL and was originally known as the Alabama Christian School of Religion. Throughout its history, Amridge University has primarily served as a theological seminary, training ministers in Bible and Christian counseling, but has expanded its educational programs over the years and now offers additional degrees, all of which are taught from a Christian perspective. Amridge’s Turner School of Theology is a central part of the university and offers all levels of degrees in ministry and theology.

    Primarily a distance learning university offering all of its programs online, Amridge University also offers classes at its 9-acre campus, located in Montgomery, Alabama. The Amridge campus consists of a single structure, known as the Morgan W. Brown Building that contains the universities classrooms, library and administrative offices. Satellite campuses exist in Nashville, Tennesee, and Phoenix, Arizona.
