Program Details

American Home Inspectors Training offers students the opportunity to earn an online certificate in Home Inspection. The certificate program provides busy professionals the needed education to maintain current careers or pursue a new career in the industry. Students will have the educational support of physical course books, real-time web classes and constant communication with educators to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the certificate programs objectives.

Home inspectors are the professionals sought by home buyers and sellers to knowledgeably promote a home or establishment with features and benefits in addition to assessing weaknesses. Students will use the course books, audio and visual tutorials, exercises, practice quizzes and photos of inspection scenarios to learn critical subject matter pertinent to the proper evaluation of a building.

The certificate program is divided into 9 modules, with each module covering a specific area of home inspection. The 9 modules are: Structure, Exteriors, Roofs, Electrical, Plumbing, Heating & Cooling, Interiors, Insulation & Ventilation and Business & Marketing.

Upon successful completion of all required coursework as well as passing all examinations, graduates will receive a certificate of completion. Graduates can use the certificate program as the necessary pre-requisite for further licensing and certifications intrinsic to the industry and applicable for career advancement. It is the students responsibility to be aware of individual state laws and regulations regarding minimum requirements for licensure and industry standards.
