Master of Education in Elementary Education

Program Details

The online Master of Education in Elementary Education program provides students with the knowledge and skills needed to understand differences in elementary students and improve their literacy and emotional, social, and cognitive needs.  The curriculum focuses on how to design curricula, use test results to determine instructional practices, and collaborate with colleagues in a professional community.  Students will learn how to increase student achievement during the critical early years and how to integrate digital technology into instruction.  

The program is designed for educators who already possess teacher certification, and does not lead to initial certification.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or highest post-baccalaureate degree earned
  • Minimum GPA 2.75 (4.0 Scale) for full admission
  • Official transcripts from a regionally accredited institution
  • Documentation of at least an initial teaching license (in the state the applicant resides), school service personnel license, or a school services certificate OR evidence of full-time teaching assignment from an individual in a supervisory capacity of from a human resources official of the school at their current employment
