Program Details

American College of Technology offers a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Business Management in the Global Economy for students interested in the role of business manager, administrator, or interested in having a functional and usable degree to help them take up the role of entrepreneur in the opening of a new business. The program is intended to prepare students for understanding of leadership and management roles within a global context, preparing them for management responsibilities which utilize globalization of production and consumption. Students will learn about the function and operations of business by studying the basic principles, practices, and structures in business in order to understand the roles and responsibilities of managers.

The program involves classwork which is based on the topics and subjects necessary for operation of business and in the role of management. Those classes include business statistics, business organizational behavior, business information systems, human resource management, strategic management, entrepreneurship and small business, macroeconomics, microeconomics, internet and social media marketing, global marketing, consumer behavior, contemporary financial management, business law and ethics, managerial accounting, safety and health in the workplace, business psychology, political science, environmental science, and technical writing.  

Through the program, students will develop an understanding of business concepts and structures to function as a manager or administrator. These qualifications demonstrate to others that the student is a qualified to take on an entry-level position in management and administration. These qualifications include but are not limited to: the ability to demonstrate organizational, communication, and critical thinking skills key to management positions, to demonstrate preparation for business positions in business, nonprofit organizations, government organizations, including the role of supervisor, administrator, and manager, to demonstrate understanding of diversity and multiculturalism in business, and to demonstrate the understanding of management principles necessary for professionalism in business.

Requirements

This is a 2+2 bachelor completion program requiring a total of 120 credits for completion. Students can complete the entire degree by first completing the online associate’s and then enrolling in the bachelor degree program.
