Program Details

Students seeking careers promoting patient health may be interested in online health informatics degree programs.  This Associate of Applied Science in Healthcare teaches students to perform functions and processes related to managing, analyzing, and organizing medical records using both electronic health records and paper-based.  Learn to ensure medical record quality through completeness, accuracy, and proper entry into computer systems.  Courses cover such topics as:

• Medical law and HIPAA 
• Billing and coding
• Communication
• Medical transcription

Chose between IT focused and General electives while preparing for the Billing & Coding Specialist Certification Exam.

This student-centered program is designed with the demands on students in mind, working to make it possible for working adults to successfully earn a degree.  There are two online options available to students.  The “Fixed Pace” is a guided option and consists of both synchronous and asynchronous delivery.  The “My Pace” version offers greater flexibility without weekly deadlines and completely asynchronous delivery.
