Psychology is one of the most useful and versatile fields of study that are available to students today. It is with this in mind that Alvin Community College offers the Associates of Arts in Psychology degree. This program will take students through several of the major pillars of psychology. Students will examine psychological theory as well as peer-reviewed research findings to broaden their knowledge of the various interactions that control how we react to our environment. This program is ideal for students who wish to pursue an advance degree in psychology, or for anyone who wishes to use the skills taught to enhance their life.
Alvin Community College offers this class completely online. The curriculum consists primarily of psychology classes, including general psychology, child development, statistical methods and social psychology. General classes such as English, mathematics and natural science are also required for completion of the course.

Alvin Community College, founded in 1948, began as an extension of Alvin High School in Alvin, Texas. Now the college sits on 113 acres, and students can pursue Associate's degrees and certificate programs. Alvin Community College supports nearly forty degree options, ranging from studies in Criminal Justice and Computer Information Technology to degrees in Psychology, Nursing, and Music. For added flexibility, Alvin Community College offers a select number of programs online and provides additional distance learning options. Alvin Community College supports online learning, in addition to hybrid online/on-campus coursework. Online quality and standards meet that of on-campus counterparts.
In addition to degree programs, Alvin Community College maintains a Continuing Education and Workforce Development division that promotes professional and career training programs, along with special interest and personal enrichment classes.
