Alderson Broaddus University is a small, private, Christian four-year institution located in Philippi, West Virginia. Broaddus originated as a two-year junior college and then expanded to become a four-year institution. One of the most notable aspects of Alderson Broaddus University is its development of the first four-year Physician Assistant program in the nation in 1968. In 1991, Alderson Broaddus also began offering a Physician Assistant Master’s program. Alderson Broaddus University is affiliated with the American Baptist Churches.
