Program Overview

Albertus Magnus College currently offers a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management that involves a broad curriculum in all phases of business practices and management.  Students will learn core management skills such as principles and administration, as well as business operations such as accounting and marketing.  Other skills involve public speaking, business law, team building, and finance.  This degree prepares students for a career and advancement in any business environment, and it is also helpful for someone who is exploring starting up his or her own company.

Students must complete 120 semester credit hours, which includes 60 credits in Business Management courses.  Classes in Business Management include Principles of Self-Management, Written Communication, Business Ethics, Information Systems, and many other topics that deal with all the basic aspects of business.  Students will also have a Case Project at the end of their studies where they research, write-up, present, and defend a business case study on a certain issue or problem.  Focuses on the study can be from an area of interest or concentration that the student has chosen, such as issues on Human Resources, Marketing, and Management.

This degree is a part of Albertus Magnus College’s online Adult Accelerated Degree program, which has select admissions requirements.  Applicants must have at least two years of work experience prior to entry, as well as at least 54 transferable credits from a recognized college or university.  Credits from other institutions may be accepted under certain conditions.  It is recommended that applicants be at least 23 years of age.  Please note that a Connecticut Driver’s License is required for this program.

    School Overview

    Rosary Hall, a mansion in New Haven, Connecticut, became home to an all women’s Catholic college in 1925. Founded by the Dominican Sisters of Saint Mary of the Springs, now recognized as the Dominican Sisters of Peace, and named for St. Albert the Great, Albertus Magnus College transitioned to a co-educational institution in 1985. In the 1990s, Albertus Magnus College began conferring graduate degrees. Today, the 4-year private liberal arts college retains its original Catholic identity enrolling students to pursue Associate’s, Bachelor’s, and Master’s degrees. Over ninety percent of the college’s faculty retains a Ph.D. or terminal degree in their perspective fields. 

    Many of the programs at Albertus Magnus College are available through the Accelerated Degree Programs targeting the lifestyles of adult learners. The Accelerated Degree program features team-based sessions allowing students to complete a set sequence of classes, one-at-a-time, in a five- to six-week period or opt for a modular framework that provides students the opportunity to enroll in two eight-week classes at a time. Classes are also delivered in three formats: online, hybrid on-campus/online learning, or face-to-face classes held at various locations across Connecticut. Most classes meet weekly with web-based supported assignments.
