This greatly affordable degree would make a great addition to your education. It is offered 1005 online and the tuition is one of the lowest in the nation. In 30 credit hours you would be able to teach online, what a gift!
The MS in Online Teaching from Wilkes is a program that is offered in partnership with Performance Learning Systems. The unfortunate thing is when a prospective student navigates (via Google, as there is no shared link from Wilkes) PLS's website simply points the student back to Wilkes. Ever called your bank and get in one of those horrible "choose your department" loops? YEP! That's what this feels like.
That being said, this reviewer whom has lead technology in education for over a decade, believes that this program presents little value to the learner. Essentially, the student will be paying to take a class online, to learn how to teach online. These schools are assumed these days and will do little to advance the knowledge and career of an instructor.
A better option would be for the learner to enroll in a program that focuses on Online Instructional Design. While these programs are a bit more technical in nature, they cover all the learning theory that the Wilkes degree would plus it bolsters the learners skills and proficiencies of teaching online by mastering the design and creation of such elements.
