What I really liked about the Master of Arts in Criminal Justice program at Western Oregon University is that it is designed so it can be completed in one year at fulltime. However, the program is also designed specifically for individuals currently working in the field of criminal justice to advance their professional careers more than it serves to provide the fundamentals in criminal justice. In addition, I like that a students can begin the program during any academic term and that they may enter the program with less than a 3.0 GPA if they score a 395 or higher on the MAT exam, a 450 or higher on the Verbal and Quantitative exam and a 3.5 or higher on Analytical Writing exam. What I do not like about this program is that beyond the Criminal Justice Graduate Program Application and transcripts the student must present a biographical letter explaining why you are seeking a graduate degree and how it meets your professional or academic goals and a current resume.
