The Upper Iowa University Master of Business Administration program develops skill and competence through individual and group assignments that combine theory with practical examples. The program provides a balance of quantitative and qualitative studies to strengthen contemporary managerial skills with current theories, concepts and learning models necessary to assume leadership roles in their organization. Students who successfully complete the MBA strengthen leadership skills and can articulate and utilize the concepts of vision, strategic planning, problem solving, quality management, and organizational development, as they pertain to the business environment. The Organizational Development emphasis within the MBA provides learners the knowledge to manage within today’s dynamic organizations. Organizations are faced with a changing competitive environment. The emphasis provides learners with the ability identify organizational needs, assess alternatives and manage planned change. Theory and case studies are integrated into the course work to provide the learner with skills and understanding of organizational structure and culture, intervention techniques and models, planned organizational change, organizational restructuring, job redesign, and organization reengineering. The courses within the emphasis provide the manager and/or consultant the ability to analyze and diagnose problems and techniques to support long-term change in organizations.
