The Upper Iowa University Master of Business Administration program develops skill and competence through individual and group assignments that combine theory with practical examples. The program provides a balance of quantitative and qualitative studies to strengthen contemporary managerial skills with current theories, concepts and learning models necessary to assume leadership roles in their organization. Students who successfully complete the MBA strengthen leadership skills and can articulate and utilize the concepts of vision, strategic planning, problem solving, quality management, and organizational development, as they pertain to the business environment. The Human Resource Management emphasis within the MBA provides learners with the knowledge of the principles and methods to develop human resources in today’s organizations. Today’s organizations are challenged with business and ethical decisions in the management of employees and benefits. Learners attain the knowledge and proficiency to staff a competitive and team-centered environment. Course work within the emphasis provides learners knowledge and skills in areas such as crises management, succession planning, labor management, compensation and benefits and management in an international environment.
