The Upper Iowa University Master of Business Administration program develops skill and competence through individual and group assignments that combine theory with practical examples. The program provides a balance of quantitative and qualitative studies to strengthen contemporary managerial skills with current theories, concepts and learning models necessary to assume leadership roles in their organization. Students who successfully complete the MBA strengthen leadership skills and can articulate and utilize the concepts of vision, strategic planning, problem solving, quality management, and organizational development, as they pertain to the business environment. The Corporate Financial Management emphasis within the MBA provides learners advanced professional skills in corporate finance and management. Corporations are operating in a truly global community. The emphasis provides financial managers the ability to manage in changing markets. Course work in the emphasis includes mergers, acquisitions and divestures; derivatives and risk management; regulations and ethics in finance and management; and financial strategy for international markets. The learner uses case-studies, reports, discussions and projects to apply the knowledge and skills of the emphasis to manage within today’s financial markets.
