Sponsored Description:
The Upper Iowa University Master of Business Administration program develops skill and competence through individual and group assignments that combine theory with practical examples. The program provides a balance of quantitative and qualitative studies to strengthen contemporary managerial skills with current theories, concepts and learning models necessary to assume leadership roles in their organization. Students who successfully complete the MBA strengthen leadership skills and can articulate and utilize the concepts of vision, strategic planning, problem solving, quality management, and organizational development, as they pertain to the business environment. The Accounting emphasis within the MBA provides learners advanced knowledge of accounting and financial principles and concepts. Courses build on undergraduate accounting topics, majors and course work. Accounting is a key department in organizations. The emphasis provides learners knowledge and skills in areas such as international accounting, public and non-profit accounting principles, accounting information systems and U.S. accounting principles and auditing standards. Ethics is vital in today’s accounting practices and is imbedded throughout the curriculum. The learner uses case-studies, reports, discussions and projects to apply the knowledge and skills of the emphasis to contemporary issues in today’s accounting industry.
