Distance education is rapidly growing in degree and school offerings. The Master of Science in Distance Education Leadership program, one of only a few like it in the nation, prepares graduates for leadership positions within the administration areas of distance education. The virtual environment is quite different from the bricks-and-mortar environment, and this program addresses those differences. Students in the program definitely have "classmates," as some classes may have synchronous components. Almost all will involve mixed delivery modalities, such as streaming video, audio files, social media, online rooms, discussion boards, chat rooms, RSS feeds, and more. This is definitely a cutting-edge program delivered by a reputable state university at an affordable cost, regardless of a student's residency.

Sounds like an important and growing area. Can't quite tell what self-paced means. Does the student have "classmates" or is he/she strictly on their own with an instructor to guide them when they ask questions or submit materials.
