I decided early on that if I was going to spend 2-3 years of my life doing an MBA I would make it worthwhile so the AACSB accreditation was a must. When I discovered USD's top ranking ahead of schools with much more notoriety and included the 3rd factor of cost, the decision was an easy one. Two years into the program my assessment has been validated - that this is a top flight school with a quality program being delivered by exceptional professors. I am getting a pragmatic graduate degree I have been able to put to good use immediately in my professional life. This is one of the best decisions I have ever made.
As a mature student I have fewer years to recover the cost of my MBA. The more I researched the more I realized the importance of accreditation. If I was going to invest significant time and money I wanted to maximize the return. I found USD to be the ideal mix of accreditation and value and was amazed how USD is rated higher than schools with much greater notoriety. My experience has validated my original assessment. Quality content engaging professors flexible schedule and fabulous reputation. What more could one ask?
I already have a MBA from a brick and mortar residential school in Florida and wanted to finish my Masters in Accounting as well to get better prepared for the CPA exam and license. I only wanted to enroll in an AACSB program that offers affordable tuition. I previously took graduate level accounting courses at University of West Florida. But I would tell you South Dakota has a better program. Their approach makes this online program more than just exam and self studying. Professors offer live lecture every week plus quizzes and presentations geared toward the term paper. Professors respond very quickly on any question as do the MPA advisers. This is my first semester a USD and I am happy with my decision.
I would highly recommend the HSAD MBA program at USD. The courses are very compelling and I have learned a lot. My courses are immediately applicable to my career development and job performance. I was even able to do an internship in Europe over the summer. You cannot beat the price and the quality is there.
